As you undoubtedly know Google Hangouts is a popular communications software that allows you to not only send instant messages but also place video calls. Nowadays people use it for a wide range of purposes from keeping in touch with their friends and family, to conducting business meetings or interviews.
The only problem with Google Hangouts’ video calls is the fact that it doesn’t let you save them or store them in any way. As such if you were hoping to record some funny or precious moments from a conversation, or save an important business call – you’re out of luck.
That being said if you use Movavi Screen Recorder you will be able to record a Google Hangouts session directly from your screen. Although that may sound like a roundabout way to do it, you will actually be able to set it up and start recording in minutes.
All that you need to do to get started is open up Google Hangouts and launch Movavi Screen Recorder, then draw a frame over the part of your screen where the session will be located. The frame that you draw can be adjusted, or you could use one of the presets in the interface that will appear.
On the interface you should also check that the ‘System Audio’ and ‘Microphone’ icons are both highlighted, or click on them to toggle either one if they are not. Beside the each icon you’ll see a volume slider that you can use to adjust the volume of each device in Movavi Screen Recorder.

Not only can you review the recording in the ‘Preview’ window, but you can also use Movavi Screen Recorder to trim out any parts that you don’t want. If you’ve made changes to the recording or want to save it in a different format, you can then click ‘Save As’ and select the format that you want to use.
As you can see there’s nothing complicated about recording a Google Hangouts session with Movavi Screen Recorder, and it really shouldn’t take any more than a minute or two to set it all up. In fact the same applies if you want to record or save anything else from your screen – which may come in handy in more ways than one.
